Resolution

Resolution

Resolution has different meanings when used in different fields. In the technology and media industry, resolution mostly refers to the number of elements (pixels) that can be displayed horizontally and vertically by a screen. The element, or pixel, is responsible for the clarity and crispness of an image or video. Resolution is measured in pixels per metric unit or point.

The units of a single colour and value that make up an image are known as pixels. The smaller the dots or pixels, the finer the detail and the higher the resolution. In cases where there are fewer pixels or dots, the resolution will be low, and when the resolution is low, you can see the blocky pixels, which are also known as pixilated.
